In 2016, I traveled to Kraków, Poland for a screen printing workshop. For two weeks we learned how to screen print, and explored elements of process and design that would expand our approach to our projects—whether it be Abstract Expressionism, or Polish Impressionism. We were challenged to work outside of our comfort zone with DIY equipment, and we were pushed to produce work through mental fatigue, to reach epiphanies. Before the trip ended, we displayed our work in the gallery space we screen printed in. According to the locals, we were one of the most successful gallery exhibits they had ever seen.
The food was fantastic.
